Man Held on $3 Million Bond Following Drug Raid in Northern Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY - A drug raid in Fultondale landed a man in jail on more than $3 million in bond.
On Thursday morning, Vice and narcotics deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office carried out a search warrant at a residence on Chapel Hills Parkway.
The search turned up 522.2 grams of cocaine – which is more than 1 pound, as well as 7.1 grams of Ketamine, 95.8 grams of an unidentified green liquid, and 18.5 grams of marijuana, said Lt. Joni Money.
Investigators also seized three semi-automatic weapons.
During the raid, authorities arrested 34-year-old Marquavius Gibbs Staples. He is charged with two counts of drug trafficking, receiving stolen property, and possession of marijuana.
Staples was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 8:15 a.m. with bonds totaling $3.026 million.
