FORT PAYNE - According to reports a logging truck overturned and struck a home at 709 3rd Street NE in Fort Payne on Friday. Eyewitnesses reported the driver of the log truck had been ejected.
Emergency personnel, EMA, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Troopers, and Fort Payne Police were dispatched to the scene.
The driver of the log truck only sustained minor injuries and was transported to DeKalb Regional Medical Center said DeKalb County EMA director Anthony Clifton.
The logs appear to have rolled into the home, causing a lot of damage. Luckily the woman who lives in the home was reportedly not home at the time of the accident.
Fort Payne Police and Alabama State Troopers assisted in closing the road while people work to clear the debris. A crane had to be sent for to pick up the large logs.
