SAND ROCK- The Weekly Ledger News on Wednesday awarded Mr. Keith Bates, with the October Teacher of the Month award.
Mr. Bates is a second-grade teacher, assistant varsity football coach, assistant varsity softball coach, and head Jr. High/ J.V. softball coach from Sand Rock School in Sand Rock.
He is being recognized for his work as an Exceptional Education teacher and his dedication to his students and his outstanding ability to encourage and make students feel inspired. Encouragement is one of the most powerful tools a teacher can use. It is often the key to unlocking untapped potential in children, especially those who have trouble learning. That is why we love recognizing and giving back to outstanding teachers like Mr. Bates.
Along with receiving his Teacher of the Month award and golden apple, he also received a beautiful flower arrangement with candy from TWLN Teacher of the Month sponsor The Lily Pad Florist, along with gift vouchers from sponsors at Sherri's Bakery in Centre, Ashley Hunter at J & Co. Salon in Leesburg, We Ship It in Centre and Swafford Auction Group in Centre. Mr. Bates will also be receiving a gift basket from the Odyssey Fitness Group in Centre and as a special Thank you, from Tony's Pizza and Subs Mr. Bates and his second-grade class received pizzas that were delivered to them on Wednesday.
