CHEROKEE COUNTY - A high-speed chase out of Northwest Georgia involving a white Chevy pickup entered Cherokee County, Alabama around 7:00 am Saturday morning. The subject a Gaylesville man, 44-year-old Christopher Tallent driving the vehicle had three felony warrants out for his arrest.
Tallent attempted to elude pursuing officers out of Georgia, he drove into Cherokee County, Alabama where Cherokee County authorities joined the chase, at that time the suspect led authorities down County Roads 16, 22, 155, and 472, Highway 9, Williams Street, the Chesnut Bypass and other areas of Cherokee County before he abandoned his vehicle and began a foot chase ending with Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputies arresting Tallent.
Tallent was arrested an charged with unlawful possession of controlled substances, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, non-support, and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on a previous charge.
